Star Cruise. To go or not to go !

OMG! Pardon me. I’m not a good blogger!
It has been months since the last updates.

Well, I have been slacking for weeks already. Finish the course in the casino school and now waiting to start work!

I went for the Star Cruise (SC) interview for the sake of going! “Getting in or not is not a major concern then. Maybe I just want to know how valuable I am in this industry.”
The interview is pretty simple. For those whom want to know how it’s being conduct, here’s the clue.
1) They will have a casual chat with you. I believe this is to rate your ability of spoken English.
2) They browse through your port folio. Maybe to see how well have you been doing so far? Its not a major problem here. This here doesn’t weigh much.
3) They asked you to roll up your sleeves. They are checking for tattoos and injection scars!!
4) A couple of casino mathematics questions. I’ve got 11X12, 35X5, 17X4. Simple enough, no need to crack brain!! hAhA!
5) They asked you which is your favorite game and what game you wish to deal. I mention BlackJack. Maybe I shouldn’t said that, I should say “orh, just give me anything! I’m comfortable with any games”

Yeap, I’ve got in. And here comes the dilemma. -_-“ To go or not to go?I have to weigh the pros and cons… And seems like the cons for going is higher.

Pros:
1) Well, this is the only way out to gain relevant experience for me in this industry.
2) With this, I could do much better in the local IR when it opens.

Cons:
1) It’s a 1 year working bond. Pay = $1080/month Nett.
2) You will work for 5 months without seeing home and rest for 1 month, resting month got no pay.
3) Onboard will not have internet connection, phone coverage. “Welcome to Planet Mars??”
4) Heard that the food is @#$%^&*. Maggie mee is even better !
5) Heard that seasick do happens. Sometimes as bad as 7 times in a day, includes dealing time.
6) Heard you work as long as 21 hours a day! 3 hours of sleep!?
7) Entertainment will be low. There’s almost nothing you can do!
8) For sure you will have insomnia. Not to forget Seasickness, Homesickness, Lovesickness!
So much so of cons, but I do still think that I should go for it. What to do? As a man, for the career. So…. Just do it!

I do still have some time to think over it. Cause SC has no details for me yet. Hope I can start it off real soon. A medical checkup, a week of seaman training in KL, and I’m ready to work. hAhA !

At the mean time. I accept all rojak work. I hate to stay at home rotting, it makes me feel so useless. So do let me know if you have Part time job lobang ! :)
